Uma experiência divina, mesmo a quem não segue uma religião ou não crê em uma figura de Deus. Assim, podemos descrever uma visita à histórica Capadócia, região turística localizado na Turquia, mais precisamente, na Anatólia central – em uma área de aproximadamente 15 mil km², entre Aksaray, Hacıbektaş, Kayseri e Niğde. Com população inferior a um milhão de habitantes, Capadócia abriga formações geológicas únicas -graças aos vulcões da região que se mantiveram em atividade por mais de 8 milhões de anos – e vasto capital turístico com suas cidades subterrâneas e habitações que se confundem às rochas onde foram construídas.

Para turismo ou mesmo moradia, a indicação são as cidades Göreme e Uçhisar, que abrigam os melhores restaurantes, bem como a vida noturna e variadas opções de compras. Em segundo plano, Ürgüp também se faz uma opção, já que basta o aluguel de um carro ou transporte privado para se chegar a uma atração de Capadócia em menos de 30 minutos, graças a estradas bem sinalizadas e conservadas.

Uma dica importante aos visitantes é a utilização de calçados apropriados, como tênis confortáveis, e bom preparo físico. Isso porque a missão de visitar as construções escavadas, além dos vales, requer subidas, descidas, pequenas escaladas, além da necessidade de andar agachado, em poucos momentos, além de muitas caminhadas. Não se esqueça do protetor labial, bem como de uma garrafa de água em mãos, principalmente se a visita se der nos meses de abril a outubro, quando o calor é intenso e o tempo bem seco.

O passeio de balão na Capadócia

Apesar de não ser nada barato, com preços para voos em grupos – de 12 a 24 pessoas – que vão de €120 a €250, individuais, voar de Balão na Capadócia vale o investimento da imperdível experiência. A sensação de paz e conexão com a natureza se dão, principalmente, pelo horário do voo – entre 5h15, em junho, e 6h58, em dezembro – quando o visitante pode ver o sol nascendo, e uma imensidão azul no céu, do alto de um balão. Os voos, que duram de 45 minutos até 1 hora, só acontecem com condições climáticas ideais, logo, reserve mais de uma manhã para a tentativa.

Parque Nacional de Göreme e Sítios rupestres da Capadócia

Imortalizado pela UNESCO, em 1985, o Parque Nacional de Görome, além de patrimônio mundial, é a mais famosa área da Capadócia. Além de sediar variadas construções religiosas, o Parque também encanta por suas paisagens naturais. Também declarados Patrimônio Mundial da UNESCO, os Sítios rupestres da Capadócia (Karain, Karlik, Soğanlı, Yesilöz, Cidade subterrânea de Kaymaklı e Cidade subterrânea de Derinkuyu) abrigam santuários escavados em rochas, e variados exemplares de arte bizantina. Com construções que ultrapassam o século IV, os sítios exibem habitações, aldeias e cidades subterrâneas.

As igrejas da Capadócia

“Jorge é de Capadócia, Salve Jorge”, diz a letra do cantor Jorge Ben, em referência ao nascimento de São Jorge, soldado romano no exército do imperador Diocleciano, que é venerado como mártir cristão e teria como origem a Capadócia. Não por menos, a região é berço de diversas igrejas. A principal delas, Tokalı Kilise, foi construída no início do século X, sobre a estrutura de outra igreja, sendo a mais fascinante de Göreme. Outras construções religiosas que merecem uma visita: Elmalı Kilise, Azize Barbara Kilisesi, Yilanlı Kilise, Karanlik Kilise e Çarıklı Kilise. Além disso, nas imediações do Museu ao Ar Livre, há a Capela de São Daniel, bem como San Ustasın Kilisesi, Saklı Kilise, Meryem Ana Kilisesi e El Nasar Kilisesi.

That’s how we can describe a visit to historical Cappadocia, a tourist region situated in Turkey, more precisely, in central Anatolia – in an area of approximately 15 thousand km2, between Aksaray, Hacibektas and Nigde. With a population of under a million inhabitants, Cappadocia has unique geological formations – thanks to the local volcanoes that were active for over 8 million years – and a vast touristic treasure with its underground cities and dwellings that are a part of the rocks they were built on.

For tourism, as well as for living, the cities of Göreme and Uçhisar are indicated, as they have the best restaurants, as well as nightlife and several options for shopping. There is also Ürgrüpe , since from there one can rent a car or private transportation and reach a Cappadocian attraction in less than 30 minutes, thanks to roads that are well signalized and well preserved.

An important tip for visitors is using appropriate footwear, such as comfortable tennis shoes, and being physically fit. The mission of visiting the hollowed out constructions, as well as the valleys, sometimes requires crouching, besides lots of hiking. The churches of Cappadocia

“George is from Cappadocia. Hail to George”, says the song by Jorge Ben, referring to the birth of Saint George, a Roman soldier in Emperor Diocletian’s army, who is venerated as a Christian martyr, and is said to have been born in Cappadocia. For no less than this, the region is the cradle of several churches. The main one, Tokali Kilise, was built at the beginning of the 10th century, over the structure of another church, and is the most fascinating church in Göreme. Other religious buildings that deserve a visit: Elamli Kilise, Azize Barbara Kilisesi, Yilanli Kilise, Karanlik Kilise, and Çankli Kilise. Besides that, near the Open Air Museum, there is the Chapel of Saint Daniel, as well as San Ustasin Kilisesi, Sakli Kilesi, Meryam Ana Kilisesi and El Nasar Kilisesi.
