The need to adapt to remote work impacted a great many people all over the world these last few months. This situation, however, served as a direction in which managers could identify the opportunity to adapt their work to a simpler model, with less cost for the company in question while maintaining a high level of productivity from their collaborators.

Thus, while the home office becomes popular in the Brazilian market, it’s important to pay attention to the adaptations that ensure the quality of the work. Many of these points are not taken into consideration at the moment of changing a model, but they are essential, and make the everyday work of the team even better.

Firstly, it’s important to ensure that the physical change from the office model is done correctly. To be sure that the items needed by the collaborators are distributed to their residences in an organized manner, that all the materials that won’t be used are safely stored until they are given a new destination. This is essential for the continuity of the work and to preserve the company’s patrimony. It is essential to have quality certified storage with safe, professional operation.

After the structured move, it’s time to create the ideal ambiance for collaborators to work and be productive. What a good manager can guarantee, in this case, is quality of internet connection, one that can support videocalls, reproduction of vídeos, and heavier downloads. It’s also very important to provide computers with the ideal processing capacity for the work done by the team, never forgetting the security of the information, and helping the collaborator ergonomically.

Task and productivity softwares, such as Microsoft Teams and Trello, among other products, are great tools to help in a physically decentralized management. They organize and interconnect people, tasks, important documents and archives, helping the manager and the collaborators themselves to have an integral notion of what is being done daily.

The organization of a routine is also essential. It’s very important for the collaborators to maintain regular conversations with their workmates and superiors. This helps to integrate the work, ensuring that the relationship is not lost as time goes by. The collaborator also needs to prepare a silent and organized space in order to fulfill his daily work. This is an essential point for the creation of routine and for ensuring long term productivity.

The events of these late months have accelerated an inevitable process in our times. We’ll be closer and closer to digital tools, and implementing them with calm, planning and organization is essential for success in the future.
